Beware of Call Forwarding Scams

Beware of Call Forwarding Scams

Beware of Call Forwarding Scams

Cybercriminals may contact you pretending to be from your mobile network, bank, or technical support. They may ask you to dial codes such as 21 followed by a phone number or similar call-forwarding codes, claiming it is needed for verification or to fix a network issue.
Dialling these codes can activate call forwarding, allowing your incoming calls—including OTP verification calls and other sensitive communications—to be redirected to a fraudster. This can put your personal information and finances at risk.

Stay Protected :

Never dial any code at the request of an unknown or unverified caller.

Never share OTPs, passwords, PINs, or banking details with anyone.

If you think call forwarding has been activated without your knowledge, contact your telecom operator immediately to verify and disable it.

If you become a victim of cyber fraud, report it immediately by calling the National Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) or filing a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
Think Before You Dial. Stay Alert. Stay Cyber Safe.
