CM Prem Singh Tamang Pauses Carcade to Pay Tribute to Mother Earth During Return from Paryavaran Parva

Gangtok, July 7: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (P.S. Golay) on Tuesday made a symbolic stop during his return journey to Gangtok after attending the Paryavaran Parva programme at 9th Mile along JN Road, using the moment to reaffirm his commitment to environmental conservation.

According to the Chief Minister, the carcade halted at a peaceful location for about seven minutes at around 11:00 AM as a mark of respect and gratitude to Mother Earth.

Describing the gesture as a sincere tribute to nature, the Chief Minister said the brief pause served as a reminder to slow down amid the demands of daily life, appreciate the beauty of the natural environment, and renew the collective commitment to protecting it.

He emphasised that preserving the environment is a shared responsibility and encouraged people to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to the well-being of future generations.

The symbolic act reflected the state government's continued emphasis on environmental awareness and conservation, reinforcing the message that even small gestures can inspire greater respect for nature and strengthen the resolve to safeguard the planet.
