Crackdown on Illicit Liquor Activities by Siliguri Police

On June 20, 2026, police team from Matigara and Bagdogra Police Stations under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate, in coordination with the Excise Department, conducted a series of raids at Tarabari, Khaprail More, Sisabari, and other locations to curb the manufacture of illicit liquor.

During the raids, a substantial quantity of materials and equipment used for the production and distillation of illegal liquor was seized and destroyed. The total value of the seized materials was estimated at ₹10,66,000/-.

Such enforcement drives are aimed at protecting the community and maintaining public order, as illicit liquor poses a serious threat to public health and safety and is often linked to various unlawful activities.
