Cremation Halted in Jaipur as Son Demands Mother’s Silver Bangles, Lies on Pyre in Protest

A funeral in Jaipur Rural took a shocking turn when a man halted his mother’s cremation, demanding her silver bangles be handed over to him. The bizarre incident occurred in Viratnagar, where family tensions erupted into chaos during the final rites of 80-year-old Chheeter Reger.

According to sources, a dispute broke out between her sons over the deceased woman's silver ornaments. Omprakash, the younger son, reportedly objected when the bangles were given to his elder brother, Girdhari Lal. In a dramatic move, Omprakash lay down on the funeral pyre, threatening self-immolation unless the bangles were transferred to him.

His protest delayed the cremation by nearly two hours and created a commotion at the cremation ground. A video capturing the incident has since gone viral, drawing widespread attention and condemnation. Villagers stated that a longstanding property dispute and Omprakash’s troubled relationship with the rest of the family may have provoked the confrontation.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether legal action will follow, but the incident has highlighted the deep-rooted issues that can surface even during moments of mourning.

Such children are a disgrace in this age of Kaliyug. In a shocking display of greed, a son in Rajasthan stopped his mother’s cremation demanding her silver bangles. Obsessed with the ornaments, the son even lay down on his mother’s funeral pyre.

Before the cremation could begin, a dispute broke out between the sons over the mother’s jewelry. One of them climbed onto the pyre and refused to move until he was given the silver bangles. The cremation could only proceed two hours later—after the bangles were handed over to him.
