Eight Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested at Siliguri Junction Railway Station
In a joint operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Siliguri Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested eight Bangladeshi nationals from Siliguri Junction railway station on Sunday. The individuals had reportedly arrived on the Radhikapur Express and were planning to travel to Haldibari before returning to Bangladesh.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted a raid and detained the group. During questioning, they allegedly failed to produce valid travel documents, following which they were arrested. Preliminary investigations suggest that the individuals had been working as labourers in Delhi before travelling to North Bengal.
The arrested persons are residents of Bangladesh's Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts. They are scheduled to be produced before Siliguri court on Monday.
