Fresh Trouble in 'Hera Pheri 3': Paresh Rawal Confirms Legal Response to Akshay Kumar's Lawsuit
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has broken his silence regarding the legal row linked to his sudden withdrawal from *Hera Pheri 3*. Responding to the lawsuit reportedly filed by Akshay Kumar’s production banner, Rawal confirmed that his legal counsel has issued a detailed reply to the allegations.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the acclaimed actor stated, “My advocate Ameet Naik has dispatched a fitting response clarifying the legality and reasoning behind my departure. I am confident that once reviewed, the matter will be put to rest.”
The dispute erupted following reports that Cape of Good Films, Akshay Kumar’s production house, was pursuing legal action over Rawal’s abrupt exit from the anticipated sequel. According to sources cited by Bollywood Hungama, Rawal not only returned the initial signing amount of ₹11 lakh but also added 15% interest, along with additional compensation, to cover any potential damages.
Insiders revealed that Rawal's total remuneration had been finalized at ₹15 crore, aligned with contractual terms and the film’s overall budget. His unexpected exit has sparked concern among fans and industry insiders alike, particularly due to the iconic status of his character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, a staple of the franchise's earlier hits in 2000 and 2006.
Legal representatives from Akshay Kumar’s side hinted at escalating the matter, describing Rawal’s exit as grounds for significant legal consequences. The issue has cast a shadow over the film’s production, which is being helmed by veteran director Priyadarshan, the mind behind the original *Hera Pheri*.
As tensions simmer, the fate of *Hera Pheri 3*—once poised to reunite its legendary trio—remains uncertain, with fans now left in limbo over the continuation of a beloved comedy legacy.
