Gold Prices Decline in India, Silver Gains ₹1,800 per Kg

New Delhi: Gold prices declined in the Indian market on Monday, while silver witnessed a sharp rise, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

Gold prices fell by ₹900, bringing the price to around ₹1.47 lakh per 10 grams in Delhi. Market analysts attributed the decline to a stronger Indian rupee and subdued movement in international gold prices.

A senior market analyst said the appreciation of the rupee made gold relatively cheaper in the domestic market, while weak global cues also weighed on prices.

In contrast, silver prices surged by ₹1,800 per kg, rising to ₹2,26,500 per kg from Friday’s closing price of ₹2,24,700 per kg.
The contrasting movement in gold and silver reflects changing trends in both domestic currency conditions and the international precious metals market.
