IndiGo Hikes Ticket-Related Charges; Infant, Baggage and Priority Services Get Costlier
New Delhi, September 17: IndiGo has increased several additional charges applicable to its flight tickets across India, making air travel more expensive for passengers requiring services such as infant travel, excess baggage, priority boarding and assistance for unaccompanied minors.
According to the revised charges reported in the information available, the airline has increased its infant travel fee from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000, representing a 50% rise.
The excess baggage charge has also been raised from ₹700 to ₹800 per kilogram, meaning passengers exceeding their permitted baggage allowance will have to pay an additional ₹100 for every extra kilogram.
The fee for unaccompanied minors has increased from ₹5,000 to ₹5,999, adding ₹999 to the previous charge.
Passengers opting for priority check-in and boarding will also face higher costs, with the airline revising the charge to ₹650. The previous rate for this service was not specified in the available information.
The revisions primarily affect passengers who require additional services beyond their standard ticket fare.
Travellers are advised to review the applicable fees, baggage allowance and optional service charges before booking their flights to avoid unexpected expenses.
