Major Ganja Seizure at Assam–West Bengal Border
Security and police teams seized approximately 2,030 kg of suspected Manipuri ganja from a truck at the Srirampur Check Gate on the Assam–West Bengal border in Kokrajhar district, Assam. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth more than ₹2 crore.
Acting on a tip-off, the security and police teams intercepted the truck and conducted a thorough search. The vehicle was reportedly carrying a consignment of bamboo. During the search, officials recovered 203 packets of suspected ganja, each weighing around 10 kg.
Further investigation into the seizure and the persons involved is underway.
