PM Modi Stresses Peace Over War as West Asia Tensions Escalate
New Delhi, 5 March : Amid an intensifying conflict in West Asia involving the United States, Israel and Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that military action alone cannot resolve global disputes. Speaking at a joint press event in New Delhi with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Modi underscored that dialogue, diplomacy and adherence to the rule of law remain indispensable tools for lasting peace, whether in Ukraine or the Middle East.
Modi said India and Finland are aligned in their belief that armed conflict does not offer a solution and urged reforms of global institutions to better address worldwide instability. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at ending wars swiftly and constructively.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come as regional fighting disrupts lives and security across West Asia. India has also been actively reaching out to Gulf leaders to discuss civilian safety, protect Indian nationals in the region and call for restraint from all parties.
As the crisis continues to affect energy supply routes and global markets, New Delhi has stressed the importance of peace and stability, urging diplomatic solutions over prolonged confrontation.
