Post-Durga Puja Inspection Conducted in Siliguri

Dr. Shankar Ghosh, Hon’ble Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism, Government of West Bengal, accompanied by Shri Syed Waquar Raza, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Siliguri, Shri Rana Mukherjee, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and other senior police officials and distinguished dignitaries, conducted a post-Durga Puja inspection of Hill Cart Road, Airview More and adjoining market areas in Siliguri.

During the inspection, necessary directions were issued for the removal of temporary gates installed for Durga Puja 2026. The team also reviewed concerns regarding illegal encroachments and unauthorised parking, stressing the importance of maintaining smooth traffic flow, ensuring public convenience and enhancing road safety.

The inspection aimed to restore normal traffic movement and ensure a safer, more organised environment for commuters, pedestrians and local residents following the festive celebrations.

The Siliguri Police Commissionerate reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring safe, smooth and hassle-free movement across the city.
