Siliguri GRP Foils Multiple Criminal Activities
Between August 18, 2026 and August 22, 2026, Siliguri GRP successfully intercepted multiple criminal activities.
i) 📍 New Maynaguri Railway Station: On August 18, New Maynaguri GRPS recovered 7 bottles of foreign liquor from Kamrup Express. Case registered and investigation is underway.
ii) 📍 New Jalpaiguri Railway Station: On August 19, New Jalpaiguri GRPS recovered 37.435 kg ganja like substance from Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express.
In another intervention, on August 19, New Jalpaiguri GRPS arrested 2 accused persons in possession of 29 bottles of foreign liquor.
2 cases have been registered and investigations are underway.
iii) 📍 New Alipurduar Railway Station: On August 19, New Alipurduar RPIC under Alipurduar Jn. GRPS arrested one accused person in possession of 4.1 kg ganja like substance. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
iv) 📍 Dalkhola Railway Station: On August 20, Dalkhola GRPS arrested one accused person in possession of 44 bottles of foreign liquor. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
v) 📍 Aluabari Road Railway Station: On August 20, Aluabari RPIC under Dalkhola GRPS recovered 5.655 kg ganja like substance from Uttar Banga Express. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
vi) 📍 Balurghat Railway Station: On August 20, Balurghat GRPS arrested 5 accused persons in possession of 571 bottles of foreign liquor. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
vii)📍 Siliguri Jn. Railway Station: On August 20, Siliguri (T) GRPS arrested two accused persons in possession of 207.800 gram gold, 7.700 kg old silver, Indian currency of Rs. 2,26,500/-. The seized ornaments and cash were possessed by the accused persons illegally.
viii) 📍 New Jalpaiguri Railway Station: On August 21, New Jalpaiguri GRPS arrested two accused persons in possession of 24.700 kg ganja like substance. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
ix) 📍 Aluabari Road Railway Station: On August 22, Aluabari RPIC under Dalkhola GRPS arrested one accused person in possession of 70 pouches of foreign liquor. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
