Traffic Restrictions Advisory at Manbir Colony for Culvert Construction Work

Gangtok, October 17: The SP Gangtok has issued an order restricting traffic movement at Manbir Colony to facilitate ongoing culvert construction work. According to the order, issued under Section 159(2) of the Sikkim Police Act, 2008, vehicular movement of all types will be prohibited along the designated route from 7:00 AM on October 18 to 6:00 PM on October 20, 2025.

The restriction has been imposed to ensure smooth execution of the culvert construction, which involves excavation, laying of new Hume pipe culverts, backfilling, compaction, and pavement reinstatement.

However, the order specifies that necessary passage will be permitted for emergency services such as the Army, Ambulance, Police, Fire, and Hospital vehicles through controlled openings.

Authorities have advised all commuters to adhere to the traffic restrictions during this period to avoid inconvenience and ensure safety.
