Vijay Promises Welfare-First Governance After Historic TN Win, Thanks Modi

Actor-turned-politician Vijay has reaffirmed his commitment to public welfare following his party’s landmark victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, while expressing gratitude to top national leaders for their congratulatory messages.

The chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending wishes after the party emerged as the single largest force in the state.

In his response, Vijay stressed that governance under his leadership would rise above political differences. He said the primary focus would remain on the development of the state and the well-being of its people, adding that cooperation from the Union government would be crucial in achieving these goals.

TVK’s strong debut has significantly altered Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, breaking the long-standing dominance of traditional Dravidian parties. The party secured 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly, falling just short of a clear majority and setting the stage for possible alliances or external support to form the government.

With the mandate reflecting a shift in voter sentiment, Vijay’s remarks signal an attempt to position his leadership as inclusive and development-driven, as the state prepares for a new political chapter.
