Anti-Paper Leak Bill Clears Rajya Sabha
The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, has cleared another major hurdle after being passed by the Rajya Sabha, following its approval in the Lok Sabha.
The bill proposes stricter punishment for those involved in examination paper leaks and other unfair practices. Under the proposed provisions, offenders could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to ₹10 crore.
The legislation now awaits the assent of President Droupadi Murmu. Once approved, it will become law and is expected to strengthen measures against paper leaks and malpractice in public examinations.
