Banks to Remain Open on Sunday Ahead of Three-Day Nationwide Strike
Public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India will remain open on Sunday, September 27, ahead of a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.
According to the Finance Ministry, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has permitted eligible bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests to operate on Sunday to ensure continuity of banking services.
The United Forum of Bank Unions has called the three-day strike to press for the implementation of a five-day banking week.
