During the ongoing robodog controversy, Galgotias University on Wednesday released a fresh statement addressing the situation and apologised for the confusion that unfolded at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

In its clarification, the university acknowledged that its representative present at the summit was not fully informed about the technical background of the showcased product. The institution attributed the misunderstanding to Prof. Neha Singh, stating that her eagerness to appear on camera, coupled with insufficient knowledge about the product’s technical origins, led to inaccurate statements being made.

The university expressed deep regret over the incident, admitting that incorrect information was shared publicly by an unauthorised representative who was not designated to interact with the media. It further emphasised that the miscommunication stemmed from a lack of awareness rather than intent.

Respecting the sentiments of the event organisers, the university confirmed that it has vacated the exhibition space following the controversy.
