LPG Price Reduced: Commercial Cooking Gas Cylinders Get Cheaper From May 1, 2025
In a move expected to provide mild financial relief to commercial users, state-run oil marketing companies have announced a reduction in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, effective May 1, 2025. According to official data, the price has been slashed by approximately ₹17 per unit.
This latest revision is likely to benefit restaurants, eateries, food service providers, and other business establishments that rely heavily on commercial LPG cylinders. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used in households.
Updated Commercial LPG Prices in Major Cities (as of May 1, 2025):
- Delhi ₹1747.50
- Mumbai ₹1699.00
- Kolkata ₹1851.50
- Chennai ₹1906.00
In comparison, the rates during the April revision had seen a more substantial drop of ₹41 per cylinder, which followed a hike of ₹6 in March. The pricing is aligned with international benchmarks and is revised monthly.
Current Non-Subsidised Domestic LPG Prices (14.2 kg Cylinder):
- Delhi ₹853.00
- Mumbai ₹852.50
- Kolkata ₹879.00
- Chennai ₹868.50
The pricing adjustments are carried out monthly by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), based on global fuel price trends and currency exchange fluctuations.
While the price cut may not be dramatic, it offers slight operational cost relief for commercial sectors amidst broader inflationary pressures.
