The Bharatiya Janata Party has categorically denied reports that Manohar Dhakad is associated with the party.

Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh :A major scandal has erupted in Madhya Pradesh after a man linked to a local political family was caught on CCTV engaging in a vulgar act on a public expressway. The footage, which rapidly spread across social media platforms, has drawn sharp criticism from the public and led to immediate police action.

The individual in question, Manoharlal Dhakad — husband of Sohan Bai, an elected Panchayat member from Ward No. 8 in Bani village — was seen in a compromising position with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The video, captured by roadside surveillance on May 13, shows the duo involved in an indecent act in broad daylight, bringing traffic to a brief halt and shocking viewers nationwide.

The vehicle, a white car used during the incident, has been confirmed to be registered in Dhakad’s name, according to officials. Following the circulation of the footage, an FIR was promptly lodged against him and another individual under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including charges for public indecency and endangering public order.

Authorities reported that Dhakad has gone into hiding since the scandal surfaced. A statewide manhunt has been launched to locate him, while the investigation continues.

Political fallout was swift. Although Dhakad is not a primary member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), his wife holds a position supported by the party. In a formal statement, Mandsaur BJP District President Rajesh Dixit clarified that Dhakad has no direct affiliation with the BJP and that the party should not be linked to his personal misconduct.

Further distancing efforts were seen from the Dhakad Mahasabha Youth Union, where Manoharlal previously held the post of National Minister. The organisation announced his expulsion, citing the need to preserve its reputation and moral integrity. National President Arjun Dhakad issued a statement emphasizing that such conduct was not in line with the values of the community body.

Reacting strongly to the footage, Ratlam Range Deputy Inspector General of Police, Manoj Singh, condemned the behavior as both socially and legally inappropriate.

“Public spaces must be respected. What was captured on the expressway is not only unlawful but deeply disturbing from a societal standpoint,” Singh stated.

The case has sparked conversations around privacy, public decency, and accountability for those associated with public office, especially when their actions breach moral or legal boundaries.

Madhya Pradesh police registered a case on Friday against Dhakad and the woman caught the video. The incident reportedly happened near Mandsaur town in Madhya Pradesh, some 200 km from Indore.
