Mamata Banerjee’s Niece Found D@ad at Birbhum Residence, Police Launch Probe

Kolkata, Sep 1: Bristy Mukherjee, a relative of former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, was found D@ad at her residence in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Tuesday, police said.

Mukherjee, 28, was the daughter of Nihar Mukherjee, Mamata Banerjee’s maternal cousin and a regional Trinamool Congress leader.

According to reports, she was found unresponsive inside the family residence at Kusumba village in the Rampurhat area of Birbhum.

Police subsequently recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her D@ath.

Authorities have not yet announced a final cause of D@ath, and investigators are awaiting the findings of the post-mortem examination and other procedural inquiries.

Reports have indicated that investigators are examining whether the incident could be a case of Su!c!d@, but the circumstances remain under investigation.

Mukherjee had earlier worked as a non-teaching staff member at a school. She was among thousands of teaching and non-teaching employees who lost their jobs following court proceedings concerning alleged irregularities in West Bengal’s school recruitment process.

Police are continuing their inquiry, and further details are expected after completion of the post-mortem and preliminary investigation.
