Meerut Murder Accused Muskaan Requests to Study Law Behind Bars, Plans to Represent Herself in Court
In a surprising development in the high-profile Meerut double murder case, the primary accused, Muskaan, has sought permission to pursue legal studies while in custody. Currently serving a 75-day sentence, Muskaan has formally approached jail authorities seeking approval to enrol in an LLB program.
Charged with the alleged murders of her husband, Saurabh, and her partner, Sahil, Muskaan has expressed a desire to represent herself in court. Sources indicate that her decision stems from a lack of trust in the legal defence provided to her. She reportedly believes that no advocate will fight her case with the conviction she can offer on her own behalf.
Despite widespread media coverage of the case, Muskaan has not received any personal visits since her incarceration. Both she and co-accused Sahil are presently represented by government-appointed solicitors.
Muskaan’s move has drawn attention for its rarity and determination, highlighting a deeper issue of perceived gaps in access to adequate legal representation within the justice system.
