Rongli Man Held for Allegedly Killing Son with Iron Rod

Rongli, Sep 18 : Rongli Police have arrested 52-year-old Mani Bagdas of Changeylakha for allegedly murdering his son, Prasant Bagdas (25), during a late-night altercation at their residence.

According to police, the victim was discovered lying in a pool of blood and was declared dead on the spot. The iron rod believed to have been used in the crime has been recovered. Statements from witnesses have been recorded, and inquest proceedings were carried out in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Rongli.

The body was later sent to New STNM Hospital, Sochakgang, for post-mortem examination. The accused has been booked under FIR No. 10/2025, Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and remanded to police custody.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
