Siliguri Journalists Hold Silent Protest Over Attack on Reporters

Members of the Siliguri Journalists’ Club staged a silent demonstration on Tuesday in protest against the alleged assault on journalists in the Khalpara area of Siliguri.

The journalists gathered with placards beneath the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the Siliguri Head Post Office, condemning the attack and demanding action against those responsible.

The incident took place yesterday at Nayabazar in Khalpara, where a team of journalists had gone to report on a local issue. While covering the matter on the spot, the reporters were allegedly attacked. According to reports, the journalists were pelted with bottles, physically assaulted, and had their clothes torn during the incident.

Following the incident, police arrested a father-son duo in connection with the alleged attack. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
