Siliguri Traffic Police Crack Down on Illegal Modified Exhaust Silencer

Siliguri: Siliguri Traffic Police intensified its traffic enforcement drive in Kashmir Colony, where officers intercepted a Yamaha R15 motorcycle fitted with an unauthorized modified exhaust silencer.

During the inspection, the illegally modified silencer was removed from the motorcycle on the spot. The rider was also issued an e-challan under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act for violating traffic regulations.
Traffic authorities have repeatedly warned that unauthorized exhaust modifications can create excessive noise, disturb public peace, and negatively impact road discipline. Such modifications may also contribute to noise pollution and inconvenience other road users and residents.

Siliguri Traffic Police has stated that strict enforcement will continue against vehicles found violating prescribed safety and noise standards. The ongoing drive aims to promote responsible vehicle use and ensure safer, quieter and more disciplined roads across the city.
