Heavy vehicular congestion is likely on main routes. Commuters are advised to remain cautious and follow traffic regulations.
Key Slow-Moving & Construction Zones
A. Darjeeling More Crossing
• Ongoing development work at the junction.
• A known congestion point- commuters are advised to use alternate routes where possible.
B. NH-10 (Siliguri Gate to Champasari More)
• Repair and improvement activities underway along the stretch.
• Commuters are advised to drive slowly and maintain a safe following distance.
C. NH-10 (Salugura)
• Work zone ahead on the carriageway.
• Reduce speed and maintain adequate distance from other vehicles.
D. Sahudangi–Ambari Link Bridge (Teesta Canal, Canal More)
• The bridge is closed due to the construction of a new bridge.
• Commuters traveling between Belacoba/Siliguri and Ambari/Sahudangi should use Nawapara More as an alternate route.
⚠️ Additional Traffic Alerts -
E. A Jana Sabha will be held at Kawakhali Ground from 1:00 PM in connection with the visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. A gathering of approximately 70,000 people is expected between 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Traffic congestion may occur on the adjoining routes during the event.
F.The second phase of repair work at Sahudangi River Bridge, near Thakur Nagar Railway Level Crossing, has begun. Traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Javravitta BFP School to Gora More between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Traffic is being regulated turn-wise.
G. Tikiapara Haat – Jalpaimore
Traffic movement is likely to remain slow between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
H. Fuleswari Haat – NJP
Traffic delays are expected from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
I. Ektiasal Haat – Ashighar
Traffic congestion is likely from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM
J. Bagdogra Haat – Bagdogra
Vehicular movement may remain affected from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
K. Khaprail Bazar – Khaprail
Traffic flow is likely to be slow from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
L. Natun Haat - Uttarkanya
Slow- moving traffic is anticipated from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
M. Balaram Haat – Canal Road
Increased traffic activity is expected from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
🚨*Important Route Advisory Route Guidance*:-
A. Vehicles travelling from Bagdogra Airport & NJP Station to Darjeeling, Kurseong, and Mirik
• Must use the Noukaghat route via Kawakhali and Khaprail More.
B. Vehicles heading towards NJP Station
• Kindly avoid Sevoke Road.
• Use Phansidewa Underpass via Kawakhali and Noukaghat.
C. Vehicles travelling from Darjeeling towards Bagdogra Airport
• Are advised to use Khaprail Road.
D. Vehicles travelling from Jalpaiguri to Bagdogra Airport
• Kindly avoid Darjeeling More Junction.
E. Vehicles travelling to the hills from Bagdogra Airport
• Are advised to use Khaprail Road instead of Darjeeling More.
F. Vehicles coming from NJP Station to Darjeeling, Kurseong, and Mirik
• Must avail the Noukaghat – Kawakhali – Khaprail Road route.
G. Vehicles coming from Sikkim & Kalimpong towards NJP Station and Bagdogra Airport
• Must use the Eastern Bypass via Bhaktinagar Check Post.
🚫 Movement of goods vehicles towards the town is strictly restricted.
H. Goods vehicles coming from Bagdogra side / Paribahan Nagar
• Are advised not to use Darjeeling More.
• May use Phansidewa Underpass.
I. Goods vehicles coming from Sikkim & Kalimpong
• Are advised to use the Eastern Bypass instead of Champasari and Darjeeling More.
