New Delhi, May 5 : A family’s journey to India for life-saving medical treatment ended in unimaginable tragedy after a devastating hotel fire in South Delhi claimed their lives.
According to reports, 53-year-old Nargisa from Kyrgyzstan had recently undergone a successful liver transplant, with her 26-year-old son donating a portion of his liver to save her. Just days after the successful surgery, Nargisa, her son Humayun, and her elderly mother were among those killed in the deadly hotel fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar area.
The family had travelled to India with hopes of recovery and a fresh start after years of battling serious illness. Instead, their story of courage, sacrifice, and survival ended in heartbreak.
The tragic blaze, which killed 21 people, has once again raised serious concerns over fire safety standards and emergency preparedness in public accommodations.
