Tree plantation program concluded at Barpipal Danda - Community participation in planting more than 300 plants is notable

2082 Ashad 25, Barpipal Danda - Tree plantation programme has been completed grandly at Barpipal Danda under fresh GPU. More than 300 plants from different species in the program, including grass plants (fodder species) and ornamental flowering plants, were planted in a collective effort.

The main objective of the program was to promote greenery of the village, produce grass that brings ease to animal husbandry, as well as spread environmental awareness in the community.

The program had enthusiastic participation of Ward President Mr. Deewan Subba, APM (Value Chain) Mr. Laxmi Prasad Khatiwada, Border Cluster Supervisor Mr. Kumar Chhetri, Community Facilitators Mrs. Sevanta Rijal and Mr. Chabilal Sharma, SHG Group, VDC Representatives, MGNREGA staff, and local residents.

Field Coordinator Mr. Pankaj Acharya played a special role in the coordination and management of the program. His activism and commitment in all works from start to finish program management, accommodation of participants, distribution of plants to planting arrangements was highly commendable. He played a leadership role in making the program a success through collaboration with local representatives, coordination of SHG and VDC, and intense dialogue with the participating community.

According to the local community, this program will prove to encourage eco-friendly thinking and make Burpipal Hills green.
