US Man Without Passport Arrested While Trying to Enter Nepal from India

A man claiming to be a US citizen was arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while allegedly attempting to cross the India-Nepal border without valid travel documents.

According to officials, the accused, identified as Jordan Brown, was stopped by SSB personnel during a routine verification near the border. When asked to produce his documents, Brown allegedly tried to flee but was quickly apprehended by the security forces.

During questioning, Brown reportedly claimed that he had entered India by sea and was attempting to reach Nepal. However, he was unable to produce a passport or any other valid travel document.

A search of his belongings led to the recovery of ₹31,460 in cash and two mobile phones. Authorities have launched an investigation to verify his identity, travel route, and the circumstances surrounding his illegal entry into India and attempted border crossing into Nepal. Further legal action is underway.
