West Bengal is set to witness a major expansion of schools run by Vidya Bharati, the education wing associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), according to reports.

A target has reportedly been set to establish around 1,000 such schools across the state within the next year. Vidya Bharati currently operates around 313 schools in West Bengal and more than 12,000 schools across the country.

According to the report, it was also stated that there would be no separate administrative body for madrasa education in the state.

The proposed expansion is expected to further increase the presence of Vidya Bharati-affiliated educational institutions across West Bengal.Note: The original text refers to “West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari.”
