After Sikkim Now , Karnataka Cabinet Greenlights Monthly Paid Menstrual Leave
Karnataka has become the latest state in India to approve one paid menstrual leave day per month for women employees, following a decision by the state cabinet on Thursday.
Scope of the New Policy
The newly approved policy will cover women working in both the public and private sectors across Karnataka. This entitlement extends to those employed in:
Government departments
Garment factories
IT firms
Multinational companies
Other private organizations
Part of a Growing Trend
By implementing this policy, Karnataka joins a progressive group of Indian states—including Bihar, Odisha, Kerala, and Sikkim—that have already enacted paid menstrual leave for their workers.
