“Democracy Is Not Under Threat, Opposition’s Political Future Is”: BJP National President Nitin Nabin Targets Opposition in Bhagalpur
BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Monday targeted opposition parties during a foot march organised in Bhagalpur, Bihar, under the campaign “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy”.
Addressing a public gathering at Lajpat Park in Bhagalpur, Nabin said that democracy was not under threat, but the opposition's political position was. He accused opposition parties of attempting to create unrest in the country by questioning constitutional institutions instead of accepting their own political failures.
Taking aim at Congress and its allies, Nabin alleged that they were trying to mislead the public. Targeting Rahul Gandhi, he said opposition leaders were engaged in spreading false narratives.
He also criticised the opposition's allegations of “vote theft” over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which began in Bihar. Nabin claimed that despite having the opportunity to file complaints with the Election Commission, opposition parties had failed to submit any complaints.
The BJP leader maintained that questioning constitutional institutions without evidence was an attempt to create confusion and instability in the country.
