NEET Re-Exam Security Tightens: Centre Plans IAF Support to Prevent Question Paper Leaks
New Delhi, May 29 : Amid growing concerns about exam security, the Centre is considering using the Indian Air Force (IAF) to transport question papers for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21.
This decision follows the NEET paper leak issue that led to the cancellation of the previous exam and the announcement of a new test. Officials are now developing a stricter security plan to ensure the re-exam proceeds without any problems.
Reports indicate that the proposal was discussed in a high-level meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and senior government officials. The focus is on improving every part of the examination process, including printing, storage, transportation, and distribution of question papers.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the government is taking a united approach by involving several departments and agencies. With monsoon conditions and logistical challenges expected in June, they are considering using IAF aircraft to make sure question papers arrive at centers safely and on time.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the NEET-UG exam scheduled for May 3 after investigations revealed that some questions had been shared before the test. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently looking into the case, and multiple arrests have been made in different states.
Authorities have emphasized that rebuilding trust in the examination system is a key priority as they continue preparations for the June 21 re-exam.
