No Hike in Household LPG Prices, Government Debunks Misleading Reports
TVS Report , 3 Jan : The Government of India has firmly clarified that there has been no revision in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used by household consumers. Reports suggesting an increase in cooking gas prices have been termed inaccurate and misleading.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas explained that confusion arose after a recent adjustment in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders. These commercial rates are market-linked and fluctuate based on international LPG prices and other associated factors.
The ministry stressed that changes in commercial LPG prices have no connection with domestic LPG cylinders. Household consumers continue to receive cooking gas at existing rates, and no price hike has been implemented.
Reassuring the public, the government also highlighted that eligible beneficiaries are still receiving support under various welfare schemes. The clarification was issued to counter the spread of misinformation and to ensure consumers remain well-informed about domestic LPG pricing.
