Report : Umar wanted to detonate bomb at Red Fort parking, forgot monument is closed on Monday:

Umar Mohammad, prime suspect behind the Red Fort car explosion, likely waited for three hours in parking as he wanted to detonate bomb there, NDTV reported, citing sources among investigators.

However, after panicking over recovery of 2,900-kg bomb-making materials, he possibly forgot that Red Fort is shut on Monday. He likely got frustrated and began driving, accidentally exploding the bomb.
