Robotic Dog MULE Steals Spotlight at Gangtok Republic Day Parade
During the 77th Republic Day celebrations at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, the Indian Army showcased its advanced robotic dog, the Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULE), drawing wide attention from spectators.
The four-legged robotic system is engineered to operate in difficult and uneven terrain. It can carry loads of up to 15 kilograms, climb stairs, move across slopes, and function effectively in extreme weather conditions ranging from icy high-altitude regions to scorching desert environments. These capabilities make it highly useful for deployment in forward and high-risk operational zones.
Equipped with the ability to transmit live visuals, MULE supports surveillance, reconnaissance, and logistical tasks, significantly reducing the risk faced by soldiers on the ground.
The demonstration highlighted the growing role of robotics in strengthening the Indian Army’s tactical and technological capabilities.
