TMC MP Mahua Moitra Attacked with Eggs, Alleges BJP Workers Behind Incident

A political confrontation turned chaotic after Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra claimed she was attacked with eggs by a group of protesters during a public event.
Sharing a video of the incident on social media, Moitra showed a large crowd gathered outside a building, with several people allegedly hurling eggs toward her. The video also captured the aftermath of the attack, with the TMC leader seen covered in egg stains.
Reacting to the incident, Moitra said, "See how I have been hit through the window. Look, the policemen are just standing." She accused the police of failing to intervene despite being present at the spot.
The Krishnanagar MP further alleged that those involved in the attack were affiliated with the BJP, claiming the incident was a politically motivated act. According to her, the protesters targeted her while law enforcement personnel remained passive and did not take immediate action to stop the attack.
The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking sharp political reactions. While TMC leaders condemned the incident and demanded strict action against those responsible, there was no immediate independent verification of Moitra's allegations regarding the identity of the attackers.
The incident has added to the ongoing political tensions between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP, with both parties frequently accusing each other of intimidation and political violence.
