Twisha Sharma Death Case Handed Over to CBI Amid Growing Pressure on Madhya Pradesh Government

New Delhi, May 22 : Under mounting pressure from the public and Twisha Sharma’s family, the Madhya Pradesh government has handed her death case to the CBI. People across the state demanded this move after Twisha’s family pushed for an independent investigation, refusing to accept the local police’s findings.

Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old model and actor from Noida, was found dead at her in-laws’ house in Bhopal’s Katara Hills on May 12. Her family didn’t mince words—they accused her husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, and her mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, of repeatedly harassing her for dowry and subjecting her to mental torture.

Officials with the state Home Department have already issued the official paperwork, recommending the CBI take over. The first police report included charges related to dowry death, cruelty by a husband or relatives, and common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with claims under the Dowry Prohibition Act.

This shift in the investigation came soon after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met with Twisha’s family and promised them the government would back them up. Twisha’s relatives say the first probe just didn’t add up—they pushed for a second post-mortem and raised concerns about the original forensic exams done in Bhopal.

The case has set off plenty of public debate. There are whispers of evidence being tampered with, mysterious phone calls, and mistakes made during the investigation. In response, police have ramped up efforts to track down the main suspects.

The story’s far from over as the CBI prepares to dig deeper into what happened to Twisha Sharma.
